Reflectarray, photoinduced plasma, beam scanning
A novel method for generating a reconfigurable reflectarray antenna based on the creation of photoinduced plasma inside the semiconductor substrate of the reflectarray is presented in this paper. A reflectarray antenna based on this method is fabricated and the measured radiation pattern when the antenna is illuminated by an optical flash source is investigated. Some of the antenna characteristics such as gain and bandwidth are also studied.
