LTCC, array antenna, laminated waveguide, patch antenna, feeding network
: A novel mixed feeding network for mm-wave planar array antenna based on Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic (LTCC) technology is presented in this paper. The configuration exploits the 3D integration feature of LTCC by incorporating laminated waveguide, microstrip line and innovative broadband transitions between them. A proposed LTCC planar array antenna consisting 16 by 16 elements is designed, manufactured and tested. Good agreement is achieved between the theoretical performance and the measured results. In addition, a detailed loss analysis for the antenna array with mixed feeding network is also provided.
