Performance of Augmented RAC Array Codes in Block-coded Modulation Schemes

Abstract

Performance analysis of a block coded modulation scheme employing augmented row and column array codes (ARAC) is analyzed from different aspects, such as transmission bit rate, symbol rate, coding gain and implementation complexity point of view. The augmentation scheme of row and column codes, and mapping procedure for their use in proposed block coded modulation scheme is given and examples provided. It's shown that, the low complexity proposed schemes asymptotically can provide 2-3 dB coding gains.
