Abstract

The problem of signature coding for multiple access OR channel is considered. Performance of the KautzSingleton code construction is evaluated which is based on Reed Solomon code mapped to a binary code. Exact detection error probability is derived using a Markov-model that is much smaller than resulted by the conventional design, so it is possible to use much smaller code length while keep ing detection error probability at small value. Some upper bounds on detection error probability are also presented which are easier to compute. Both the case of fixed and binomial activity of users are studied.
