Switch fabrics are used in routers to interconnect line cards and among switch fabrics, crossbars are the most popular. The performance of switch fabrics vary with different queuing strategies applied to them. In this paper we have designed a combined input-output-queued switch fabric with ability to support quality of service. To verify and evaluate our design we have developed a simulator with SystemC, an open community C++ modeling platform for system level design and hardware/software co-design, and various switch parameters have been measured using this simulator.
