A new method for generating frequency hop sequences is described and demonstrated. It relies on the evaluation of a large number of possible signal to interference ratios, which are then used to drive a meta-heuristic algorithm. One implementation of this algorithm is detailed. A case study illustrates the performance of this algorithm com pared to randomly generating hop sequences, and demon strates the interference averaging effect of frequency hop ping.
