Abstract

Contents sharing for multiple devices has become easy due to advancement in multimedia and network technology. For content sharing among multiple devices, they should be able to have interoperability with each other. Contents and licenses should have consistent format which shoud be processed by each devices. In this paper, we propose a license administration mechanism in which multiple DRM clients are managed by an intermediary device called the "Proxy", which also transcodes contents and licenses for each device to play DRM protected contents. We also propose the registration protocol and license transfer protocol for DRM clients to be authenticated to the license administrator, the Proxy.
