Abstract

In order to have a distributed system more manageable and fault tolerant, the system must be sensitive to event occurrences. In this paper, we introduce an event management framework that is flexible to adapt the dynamic changes that are caused various factors, such as the burst workload, various system failures, and dynamical managers' decisions changes. The architecture of event management framework includes direct event notification service and indirect event channel service that use rule-based event processing engines. These event services are dynamically adaptable according to the event rule and policy definition in XML as well as the state and configuration of applied systems..
