Reliable Multipeer Protocol, Distributed Virtual Environments, JAVA, C++
Previous tests have shown a performance degradation of the JAVA implementation of the Reliable Multipeer Protocol pre sented in [4] under heavy network load. Therefor the protocol was also implemented in C++ and tests were conducted in or der to compare the performance of both implementations. This paper presents the results of these tests, together with some considerations regarding possible causes of the performance drawback of the JAVA implementation.
