Abstract

Delegation is the process whereby a user (the delegator) delegates some rights to another user (the delegate). Ac countability, which defines the responsibility of the delega tor with respect to the activities performed by the delegate, is neglected in traditional delegation paradigms such as the delegation certificates. In this paper, a model for delegation of accountability will be introduced. When performing del egation, the delegator can withhold the responsibility, share the responsibility with the delegate or completely transfer the associated responsibility to the delegate. We will extend the delegation certificate to realize the proposed delegation model.
