Abstract

The benefits of reusability in software systems have been well recognised and are expected to include significant improvement in productivity and increased software quality. This work looks at the development of a reusable software architecture (RSA) that will guide software engineers in assembling different systems under the Component-Based Software Development (CBSD) paradigm. This paper presents a formal specification and design of a RSA for an accounting information system (AIS). This RSA may be instantiated to meet different accounting needs by plugging different components into it.
