Abstract

Clinical records are necessary in the operation of hospitals. Electronic Healthcare Records, although a promising technology, demonstrate small penetration levels in hospitals. In this paper we present a newly developed platform that captures unstructured, natural language medical data and stores it to the EHR in a structured way according to international standards. The platform can foster the use of EHRs in eveyday practice and enchance the quality of healthcare records. Aiming at providing natural entry of medical data at the point of care the developed platform combines a mobile device, wireless communication, automatic speech recognition and natural language processing.
