This paper proposes a conceptual framework to evaluate existing e-learning products, to adapt them to a company's needs, and to prepare the implementation in a co-ordinated manner especially between IT and HR to assure that the key stakeholders' expectations are met. The rationale of the framework is based on four design challenges that have to be met when implementing e learning: designing the community of stakeholders, designing their interaction modes, designing the learning services, and designing the technological infrastructure. The framework is then applied to a real-life case that illustrates its function as an orientation map.
