Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TEVT) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is under the auspices of the General Organization for Technical Education and Vocational Training (GOTEVOT). GOTEVOT Information-Technology Department, (IT Department), is well responding to the challenges made in Information Technology in line with international standards. GOTEVOT have engaged with various International Training Organizations such as Seneca College of Applied Arts & Technology, Toronto, in order to enhance and develop the IT infrastructure and IT systems to facilitate the IT deployment at GOTEVOT Colleges and Institutes. In order to achieve the professional aim, GOTEVOT has proposed the development of IT infrastructure and systems in line with well-placed multinational companies such as Oracle, Cisco, HP, Microsoft, and Element-K Middle East. Based on a mature business participation of these companies, it was possible to establish a very strong and effective setup in IT infrastructure consists of state of the art WAN, LAN's, PC's and Computer Labs. Professional Learning Management System, LMS, has been implemented successfully to introduce the e Learning services to more than 20,000 students in computer courses in the first phase of a giant Web-Based e-Learning project. This project is also aimed to include a centralized testing and registration facilities as well as many other administrative systems to keep track and administer the students and there certifications. This paper will provide some details about the above IT projects and the experience that GOTEVOT built in this field of development. Some obstacles and achievements are reported with their impact on the overall development plan of the IT-business in GOTEVOT. The road map of the future of Information Technology in GOTEVOT is drawn.
