Abstract

Pedagogical design is one of the important factors in effective web-based learning. This paper introduces a web-based course material design for postgraduate courses that complies with the three-stage Experiential Learning Cycle model. This model is modified from Kolb's four-stage Experiential Learning Cycle. Although Kolb's model can be fully applied in classroom teaching, it is limited in the web-based environment, due to the lack of face-to-face interactivity. However, the three-stage model can overcome this problem. This paper describes how to develop a web-based course structure based on the three-stage model with which learners can create knowledge through transformation of experience with understanding.
