Many students, although nominally studying full time, have difficulty with actual full time study, due to the requirements of paid employment and other life demands. Traditional undergraduate learning models often suppose regular attendance at weekly lectures and tutorials. The Walkabout learning model provides a more flexible learning model to help students balance study and other life requirements. The model includes a de-structuring of regularly timetabled lectures and tutorials, together with student use of a Walkabout's My Learning System (Myles) which includes web based learning content and exposition, learning tasks, an interactive environment and administrative features.
