Energy Conservation, Shell Eco-Marathon
An algorithm is presented to simulate the behaviour and predict the performance of an extra-low fuel consumption car vehicle in the 18th Shell Eco-Marathon, organised by Shell France in May 2002, in the circuit of Nogaro, France. A computer program was then developed based on this algorithm and used to simulate and optimise the driving strategy of the vehicle. To illustrate the use of the program we apply it to the case of the vehicle, the ECO VEICULO XC01i, with which we participated in the 18th Shell Eco-Marathon and compare the real performance to the predicted performance of the vehicle.
