Simulation Tools, Visualization, Sketch-Based Input, Fi nite Element Analysis
The complicated menu-based, command line, or script able interface of most simulation tools creates an unnatural working environment for model development and analysis. Even engineers and scientists familiar with such systems spend significant time converting hand-drawn designs into digital models for simulation. They then spend more time preparing these results for visualization. These steps lead to many hours exhausted on transcribing, rather than in terpreting results. We present a tool that allows users to sketch mechanical systems using standard engineering rep resentation, to simulate the responses of those systems, and to view the results of those simulations, all on the same "sketch-pad."
