Electricity market modelling is new subject in Croatia that is being discussed recently. Every country has different starting points for achieving functional market model and organization of electricity market. In Croatia, marginal conditions for market modeling are European Electricity Directives, as well as introducing a South East European regional market. Of course, we must reconsider status of development of Croatian power system and status of ongoing reforms in energy sector. In this paper it is discussed about above aspects and it is represented Croatian electricity market model at the first stage of electricity market opening.
