Transport companies face major challenges today, two im portant ones are the increasing demand to coordinate trans port operations with other stages in supply chains and the need to react faster to occurring events. This paper sug gests a new approach for modelling real world transporta tion scenarios and gives an outline about the architecture of a resulting transport scheduling system.
