Abstract

Current multi-agent Systems (MASs) mostly work in complex, open and dynamic environments. How to coordinate and manage agents' behaviors and make them work cooperatively in such environments has become one of the challenge issues in MAS research. In this paper, firstly we classify different kinds of knowledge in MASs into different categories; then, we define an ontology format to represent knowledge; finally, we introduce a framework for agent coordination through ontology management. Ontologies used in this coordination framework can be easily added, removed and modified so as to face the challenge of dynamic and changeable environments.
