Adaptive Algorithms, Echo Cancellation, Internet Telephony
In this paper, different adaptive algorithms for stereophonic acoustic echo cancellation (SAEC) are compared. They include the simple Least Mean Squares (LMS), Normalized LMS (NLMS), Recursive Least Squares (RLS), and Affine Projection (APA). The algorithms are compared based on their convergence rate, calculation complexity, signal path delay and memory usage. Various performance issues such as effect of step size, delay, and the type of signal on the behavior of above-mentioned adaptive algorithms have been discussed. Finally, simulations are presented for color signal filtration and some of the results obtained are reported.
