Block sum quantization (BSQ), Discrete cosine transform (DCT), Watermarking
This paper proposes a novel semi-fragile tamper detection method that guarantees perceptual transparency. A binary authentication watermark is embedded into the low frequency discrete cosine transform (DCT) coefficients using a block sum quantization (BSQ) method, which leads to an algorithm that is tolerant to lossy compression such as joint photographic experts group (JPEG). Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm shows tamper detection and tolerance to JPEG compression satisfying perceptual transparency.
