Abstract

In the paper IM modeling based on reference frame aligned with the stator current vector, current control design along with simulation and experimental verification is presented. As the stator current vector is measured the introduced reference frame is quite reliable. The proposed cascaded control structure is derived from the reduced IM model. Proposed current control enable perfect tracking of the current command obtained from the outer torque controller even in the case of perturbed rotor time constant. By manipulating simultaneously the magnitude and the rotation speed of the stator current vector in an appropriate way global stability, efficiency maximization, insensitivity to the bounded perturbation of the rotor time constant along with almost perfect torque command tracking at non-zero rotor flux can be achieved.
