Abstract

Predicting a battery's performance without actually discharging it has long been a topic of great interest. Battery conductance [1-8] and impedance magnitude [8, 9] have proven very useful in predicting cranking performance and relative capacity. To help clarify one of several new technical options, this paper will discuses a simulation of a new battery monitoring models that illustrate how multiple measurement inputs can be configured to guarantee finding potential service-affecting battery faults.
