Simulation has been widely used with interesting results from the practical point of view but in a nave way from the point of view of learning. The applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques have increased its possibilities, but the associated learning problem has not yet been properly considered. In this paper we try to go further into the learning process by using intensive cognitive modeling arriving at the human expert mental models. MEDIC is a multi-agent based simulation environment. It is a practical example of collaborative learning and of the acceleration of the transfer of novices into experts.
