Modeling/Simulation, PSS/E, Dynamic Studies, Kuwait Network.
This paper introduces the modeling of Kuwait power network for dynamic simulation studies. PSS/E is selected to perform this task. The principle features of the program are outlined, followed by the detailed modeling of Kuwait system. The building blocks of the simulation, in conjunction with the model validation and data checking are also discussed. A comparison between simulation results of actual disturbances and those of system disturbance recorders is made. Model parameters are tuned for more realistic system performance. Sample contingencies are simulated and system performance is assessed.
