Transformer research has revealed that energy savings can be achieved through their novel application of switching technology. However, an effective control and condition monitoring system has not been developed. In this paper we provide a backgrounding to the Three Phase Energy Efficient Switching Transformer. Then provide typical economics data for the Three Phase Energy Efficient Switching Transformer. Followed by the Fuzzy Logic Control and Condition Monitoring System. This includes highlights of other relevant research; requirements and benefits analysis; the proposed model approach and; modelling tool requirements; and the chosen tool. Finally, we outline our future work and conclusions.
