This paper outlines the effect of sootblowers operation on boiler performance. It describes the objectives of the correct operation of the sootblowers. It suggests methods of improving sootblower operation on the basis of the objective defined maintaining boiler cleanliness. The paper also outlines the possibility of using the presented algorithms as a part of a more complex system of sootblowing system operation.
