FACTS, TCSC, PSS
FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission System) design aiming at enhancement of capability limit of existing power transmission system is proposed by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), and it is gotten attention. From the simulation results, it is shown that further improvement is achieved by using PSS and TCSC together to three-machine nine-bus system. In this research, since the improvement in the local mode is main purpose of PSS, TCSC is expected to be used for global mode improvement, aiming cost minimization with minimum number of TCSC. Coordination control of these apparatus must be established in case of number of TCSC increases. The further research includes this viewpoint, and the proposed method is applied to more complicated and large-scale network models.
