Abstract

Web caching is a mechanism used to store frequently accessed documents at a proxy server closer to the users. In e-commerce applications and financial market services, information contained in the objects delivered by the origin server to the clients can rapidly change with time. Though there are several approaches to locate the cached static objects in the Internet, extension of these methods to rapidly changing objects is not straightforward. In this paper, we present a new method called the dynamic summary cache and the simulation results that compare the performance of dynamic summary cache with that of the summary cache.
