. The management of modern telecommunications networks should satisfy the each time greater demand of operation. Requirements of operation and service quality imposed by the users are also an important aspect to consider. In this paper we carried out a study for the improvement of the administration techniques in telecommunications networks. This task is achieved through the integration of an expert system in the own definition of the telecommunication network. For this purpose, an extension of GDMO standard has been accordingly added and investigated in this study. A new template named RULE has been added, and it gathers important aspects of the facts and knowledge base of the embedded expert system. Networks can be managed in an easy way using this proposed integration.
