Heat transfer is one of more difficult areas in the education. Understanding mathematical models of transmission of heat requires a lot of knowledge ranging from mathematics, physics, mechanics and computer science. Heat flux calculation method for insulated pipes is relative simple and is included into classical learning process. On the other hand, determination of technical and economical thickness of pipe insulation is too complicated without the use of computer. Since we need to pass the knowledge to our students we decide to develop the computer program to enable students to understand all aspects of thermal insulation. The aim of article is to present how conceptual learning can be used in heat transmission systems.
