Abstract

An inspection of existing Distance Learning Systems (DLS) is firstly attempted within this paper in order to point out drawbacks arising when implementing sophisticated learning models. Thereafter a DLS based on the MS SharepointTM Portal Server (SPS) software is proposed, which provides several means in order to overcome such drawbacks. Certain key technical aspects of this platform are also analyzed.
