The CAN protocol is a standard fieldbus with an important role in industrial applications, specially in the automotive sector. This article describes an educational system for the CAN protocol. It has been designed and developed in the Electronic Technology Department of the University of Vigo (Spain), and is aimed at teaching purposes mainly, for its use in courses and subjects on industrial communication networks. Besides, it could suitably be used as a starter, apprenticeship and test environment for future users of the CAN standard.
