Abstract

This paper focuses on the difficulties in developing new models for net based in-service courses in ICT and learning for teachers. The model described is based on experiences in developing such distributed courses made by Stord/Haugesund University College since end of 1980s. Findings in this paper are related to an in-service study programme (30 ECTS-credits) particularly prepared for upper secondary school teachers. The model is a continuation of the traditional distributed study and a blended learning solution. Key elements in the model are authenticity, technical skills, reflection, personal practice, small-group studying and the use of time. Developing and parallel teaching such courses gives also inputs that improves the traditional campus based teacher education.
