Abstract

The world of business is being profoundly transformed by the Internet and the electronic commerce. The rapid advancement of the Internet technology and its applications such as Internet systems seems to expand the scope of business opportunities offered by global digital economy. Internet systems support a worldwide broadcasting capability, a mechanism for information dissemination, and a medium for electronic commerce between organizations and customers across countries. This study leads to the derivation of the diffusion model of Internet systems, which comprises four key dimensions: external market factors, external technical factors, internal organization factors, and internal system factors. This model proposes a theoretical foundation for further research of electronic commerce and ICT diffusion.
