Abstract

Mutidatabase techniques are effective solutions for the integration of autonomous and heterogeneous individual database systems. In fact, the contention of each individual system is dynamically changing during its running. Thus, it is definitely desirable to find some solutions for the global query optimizations in such environments. In this paper, we investigate the challenging problems and provide a framework for optimizations in the dynamic MDBS environments. Response time is selected as the control objective for the global query optimizations, and a greedy algorithm is provided to construct a bush tree for the inter site joins.
