Abstract

Intensity ratio method, which is one of structured light methods, can obtain range information of the target scene at high speed since the method requires only two projec tion light patterns. It, however, could not achieve enough accuracy and robustness due to the influence of noise and other nonlinearity on the pattern projection and the image acquisition. In this paper, we present a method of photo metric characteristics calibration of the camera and projec tor. By using these characteristics for designing desirable projection light patterns and calculating intensity ratio, the accuracy and robustness of the intensity ratio method can be improved. Experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of this calibration method.
