Abstract

The World Wide Web has become an environment for a great number of web-based applications. There has being an increasing demand for semantically modeling and querying the web. To do this at present requires much human effort. Therefore, there is a strong need for automatically or semi-automatically reengineering a web site structure and content. This paper proposes a model for re-engineering the web structure and HTML content in the format of XML, and presents a semantic extension to an XML query language within a specific domain. The proposed approach leads to reduced human effort and high reusability for engineering semantic-web query systems.
