Abstract

In the age of E, the software development paradigms have been evolved into a rapid model. To accommodate the often changed business environment, the software requirements are constantly updated during the development phase to reflect the business needs. This will in turns impacts on the way we develop and release the software. Conventional development models are having difficulties to comply with the scenario. One remedy is to use a new paradigm that gradually releases the software components according to the current business needs. In this paper, we present a process model, called Progressive Development Model (PDM), that is based on this remedy for the problem. The PDM model has been utilized in some largescale software projects, and is proven to be an efficient and effective process for today's business environment.
