This paper describes an agent-based, distributed infra structure for information gathering and treatment to sup port the analysis phase of knowledge discovery. We de signed and developed a multi-agent system to specialize in the integration of heterogeneous information sources. We exploit and synthesize new technologies in the data preparation area as a unified system. In the proposed system, the user's preference and background knowledge are to be aware of and included as a guidance via the user and controlling agents. The state of the environment are continuously monitored for the dynamic update in the data contents. The final product of this cooperative multi agent system is the clean data set well-prepared for the knowledge mining task.
