Abstract

Dynamic adaptation enables programs to change their be havior dynamically depending on the states of runtime en vironments. Recently, the need for programs with dynamic adaptation is increasing. In particular, dynamic adaptation can be regarded as the important functionality of server programs and mobile code programs. However, it is quite hard to realize dynamic adaptation of programs in flexible and safe way. We propose a modularization technique & some mechanisms for dynamic adaptation of programs and a Java class library named LampJ. LampJ makes dynamic adaptation of Java programs flexible and safe.
