Abstract

This paper reports an approach for analyzing dependence in component-based systems that are built using commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software components. The main contributions underlying this approach are (1) to provide mechanisms to acquire dependence of a software component (COTS or not) and to deploy the results with the component in the form of metadata, and (2) to perform system dependence analysis based on the deployed metadata of each of the components that compose the system.
