Abstract

In the last five years we developed three different visualization toolkits for presenting the same type of geographical data. In this paper we want to present our results and advances in the development of new geographic visualization toolkits. We will emphasize how it is possible to integrate average users in the development process of the visualization systems and how to establish remote and collaborative work with a visualization toolkit. The remote visualization will be accomplished by sending realtime generated visualizations as an ISO MPEG-4 compliant video stream over the RealTime Streaming Protocol from a server to a client computer. On the client computer a Java program and an ISO MPEG-4 compliant video player are used to interact with the delivered visualization.
