Abstract

The paper describes a digital imaging setup by which dimensionally highly accurate measurements can be performed simultaneously in two-dimensions. The high accuracy and repeatability of measurements put great demands on imaging process and following digital image processing. An imaging setup free of perspective and magnification error is described first, then their residual optical aberrations are modelled and an appropriate calibration process is presented to quantify the imaging parameters. Finally the performance of the described digital imaging setup is evaluated.
