The most of data already created in different information systems are in shape of database. With the development of the web and Internet it is interesting to integrate some of these existing data in form of documents usable by a distributed web system. We propose in this paper to study different problems to solve in order to carry out this integration. We have to choose a pivot model and a pivot language in order to respectively describe and manipulate heterogeneous distributed data. We have to cope with translation linked to description and manipulation of data. In this paper we explain how to use the XML schema as a pivot model and the XML-QL language as a pivot language.
