A simple parallel machine (SPaM) in CORBA has been designed and implemented. It is a scalable, dynamic, and inexpensive parallel machine that can be easily deployed on a local area network as a pedagogical and a research tool. It is an example that explores the power of the marriage of CORBA and Java, too.
