AN, NCSs, network-induced delay, packet loss, quality of service, and quality of performance.
Network control has concentrated on opening up the network, moving away from closed, monolithic control system. Such work can be placed into allowing packets on the data path to program the network nodes, leading to the concept of the Active Networks (AN). This paper describes the characteristics of Network Control Systems (NCSs), their fundamental issues, and some analysis strategies. Finally, applying AN technological to solve the fundamental issues in NCSs and some technical strategies are highlighted.
