Nursing elderly people is a major concern in a soci ety where the percentage of elderly population is steadily growing. The nursing facility staff often work very hard and for long hours from daytime to midnight. We have proposed a monitoring system in nursing fa cilities to reduce the workload. In this paper, we present a design of interface among nursing support service compo nents. The monitoring system consists of service compo nents that have various functions. These components not only provide useful services individually, but also are sup posed to give better services as a whole. The interface is designed for communication and collaboration among the components from an agent-based approach. It is im plemented in our prototype system and is experimented at several situations.
